At the heart of the Swiss alps in the Valais region you will find Nendaz, the sunniest region in Switzerland with over 300 days of sunshine in the year. Whether you want activity or relaxation in the Summer you’ll discover breathtaking scenery stretching out over the valley and the 4,000m high mountains that dominate it.
Lake and Mountain walks
Why not discover the breathtaking scenery this area has to offer by travelling on foot using the system of Bisses (slightly inclined paths running alongside irrigation canals). Nendaz has over 98km of mountain walks using up to 8 different Bisses passing through pastures and woodlands. Whether you are out for a mountain stroll or an avid walker looking to reach the mountain peaks, Nendaz has it all. With over 250 km of summit walks and routes that are pushchair friendly for the family day out, this idyllic region has it all to offer.
Paragliding
Paragliding is actually available all year round with 2 local schools offering tuition for beginners and tandem flights for the adventurous first timers. The take off area is next to the top of the main lift with the landing area some 600m below situated in a sports field.
Mountain biking
Nendaz boasts over 200km of well marked bike trails throughout the area covering all abilities. The Tour de Mont-Fort links the resorts of Nendaz to Verbier and La Tzoumaz using 2 different routes.
